US official: Up to 7 people killed in air strikes in Syria
An American official expressed the United States' belief that 7 people were killed in its latest air strikes on Iranian-affiliated factions in Syria last Sunday.
The American official explained that people were killed in an American strike on a training facility near the city of Al-Bukamal in the Deir ez-Zor countryside in eastern Syria, noting that another person was killed near the city of Al-Mayadeen.
This is the first time that the United States has indicated deaths in its recent strikes on factions affiliated with Iran, which it accuses of attacking American forces at its bases in Iraq and Syria.
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin indicated the possibility of his country launching more strikes on factions affiliated with Iran if they did not stop attacking US forces in Iraq and Syria.
