Turkish occupation mercenaries kidnap 7 citizens, attack 2 old persons in al-Niryabiyeh, Shahba
Turkish occupation mercenaries have kidnapped 7 citizens from the village of al-Niryabiyeh in the occupied Afrin and Shahba Canton, assaulted two old persons from the Kurdish village, and stolen and looted the citizens' property, according to the Human Rights Organization in Afrin.

The Turkish occupying state and its mercenaries continue to oppress the people of occupied Canton of Afrin and Shahba, aiming to force them into coerced displacement in order to achieve Turkish occupation goals of altering the demographics of Kurdish areas.
In this context, the Human Rights Organization Afrin-Syria reported that on January 14, 2024, Turkish mercenaries raided the village of al-Niryabiyeh in the Afrin and Shahba Canton and kidnapped 7 Kurdish youths.
The organization documented the names of the kidnapped individuals: "Jaber Shukri Abdul Qader (40 years old), Hamid Abdul Jawad Walu (35 years old), Abdullah Adel Abdul Qader (22 years old), Jaber Aref Walu (22 years old), Khamees Khamees (30 years old), Asaad Aref Walu (33 years old), Khalid Ali Walu (20 years old)."
The organization clarified that the mercenaries brutally attacked the elderly individuals "Abdul Qader Mohli Walu and Ahmad Ali Walu."
The organization further reported that during the raid, the mercenaries stole money, jewelry, and mobile phones under the pretext of searching for weapons.
It pointed out that these violations have a nationalist dimension, aiming to take revenge on the Kurdish population of the village, as has happened in other areas like Afrin.
The organization highlighted the ongoing raids and kidnappings in the village to create a state of fear and terror, forcing the remaining residents to undergo forced displacement, contributing to the demographic change of the region.
The village is located in the countryside of the city of Al-Bab, which was occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries in 2016. The Kurdish villages in this area, more than 100 in number, have undergone demographic changes since the occupation, with the vast majority of their Kurdish residents being displaced, while those who remain continue to suffer under the occupation and its mercenaries.
