Protests resumed across Syria for the second consecutive day in rejection of the decision to raise fuel prices, with roads blocked, tires set on fire, and crossings and major roads closed in several areas.

In Hasakah Governorate, protests took place in al-Shaddadi, Tal Brak, and Tal Tamr, where roads were blocked and protesters set tires on fire. The closure of the international M4 highway also brought the movement of hundreds of oil tankers to a halt.

In Aleppo, protesters closed the Bab al-Salameh border crossing with Turkey to cargo trucks, while protests also resumed in Idlib.

Several areas of Deir ez-Zor, including al-Shuhail, the al-Bukamal countryside, and the al-Omar oil field, also witnessed road blockades and the burning of tires. Meanwhile, a road in front of the grain silos in Raqqa was closed.

The protests began on Sunday and spread to Hasakah, Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, Idlib, Aleppo, Hama, and Daraa, amid demands for the decision to raise fuel prices to be reversed.
