“Turkey rejects Kurds, targets their language and culture by all means”
The Kurdish Language Institution in Aleppo pointed out the exclusionary policies of the Turkish authorities towards the Kurdish language and culture, as well as their efforts to eradicate them in N. Kurdistan and Turkey. The Institution emphasized resistance as a way to counter these policies and preserve the Kurdish people's achievements.

The Kurdish Language Institution in Aleppo issued a statement to the public today, condemning the Turkish authorities' actions against the Kurdish language. The statement was made in front of the Qahraman School in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, Aleppo, in the presence of dozens of members of the Training and Education Committee in the Democratic Society and the Kurdish Language Institution.
The statement, read by Zozan Dhar, member of the Kurdish Language Institution's committee, said: "Learning in one's mother tongue is a fundamental right and a reason for human existence. We must be worthy of our culture and language and work to develop them. Leader Abdullah Ocalan emphasizes their importance, saying: 'Language is a body, culture is a body, and geography is a body. Be worthy of this body.'
The statement referred to the ongoing attempts to annihilate the Kurdish language: "For hundreds of years, Kurds have been prohibited from speaking their language and practicing their culture, and their history has been subjected to erasure in various ways by ruling regimes, primarily the Turkish state, which denies the existence of the Kurdish language and identity."
The statement condemned the Turkish occupation state's attacks on Kurdish culture and language, aimed at eradicating them and preventing their development, stressing the need to "intensify the struggle to prevent the Turkish occupation from achieving its goals."
It called for a "revolutionary stance against the Turkish occupation's policies, which gather mercenaries from around the world, teaching them to oppose and fight the Kurdish people in an effort to eliminate them."
The statement also highlighted Turkey's policy: "When it launched its attack on Afrin in 2018, it targeted schools and Kurdish language institutions and worked to Turkify them. Today, in N. Kurdistan, it is practicing the same policy, targeting Kurdish language and cultural centers there."
In conclusion, the statement called on "concerned parties to fulfill their humanitarian duty and respond to the Turkish occupation's actions against the Kurdish people and their culture in Kurdistan.”
