The Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Council organized a dialogue seminar entitled "Turkish-Syrian rapprochement: outcomes and goals".

The seminar, which was held in the meeting hall of the Syrian Democratic Council building in Raqqa Canton, was attended by members of the Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Council, the Democratic Union Party, the Kurdish Left Party, the Construction and Development Party, the Conservative Party, and members of the Future Syria Party.

The seminar began with a minute of silence, and then the researcher and writer for the Middle East Democratic newspaper, Ismail Al-Khaled, said: "When we hear about the Turkish-Syrian rapprochement, the reason for this rapprochement and its general impact on Syria and the Syrian people.

Al-Khaled added that it is unfair to call what is happening between two regimes rapprochement; because both are dictatorial, so this rapprochement cannot be described as politically and economically beneficial.

He explained that the Adana Agreement was signed between Turkey and the Damascus government based on protecting the so-called "Turkish national security" and intervening at a distance of 5 km, and it was amended and penetrated 35 km, and this is considered an occupation of Syrian territories.

The politician Fakhri Darwish confirmed that: "The Turkish-Syrian rapprochement aims to thwart the democratic project, especially after the issuance of the social contract, which is considered a constitution for the region of North and East Syria."

In turn, Ghazi Al-Yassin, the member of the Relations Office in the Democratic Union Party, said: "No agreement can be concluded between the Damascus government and the Turkish occupation state, but there are understandings, and Turkey suffers from internal crises that cannot adapt to the countries of the region."

As for the second axis of the symposium, the Co-Chair of the Free Media Union in Raqqa, Hussein Al-Othman said: "Since the start the Syrian crisis, the relationship between Turkey and the Damascus government has been bad, and it has seduced the Syrians by throwing them into mercenary groups to achieve its interests in Syria and the Middle East."

Al-Othman added: "Erdogan seeks to destabilize Syria to control the border areas." He explained: "There is a common goal for the Damascus government and Turkey, which is to thwart the Autonomous Administration project.

While the member of the Future Syria Party, Amir Al-Khabour said: "There is no rapprochement, but Turkish goal to restore its former glories in building a new Ottomanism."

The member of the General Council of the Future Syria Party, Omar Diab said: "We must seek to get rid of foreign interventions that aim to control the region's economy, so we must be aware of this issue."

The spokesman for the Northern Democratic Brigade, Mahmoud Habib, confirmed: "Recently, we have seen a resentment from the Turkish people towards the Justice and Development Party, and that the Turkish regime seeks to expand according to the Adana Agreement and penetrate 35 km into Syrian territory with the aim of strengthening its economy militarily and politically after amending the Adana Agreement."

At the end of the symposium, Rajab Al-Mushrif the member of the Relations Office in the Syrian Democratic Council, said: "Currently, there is no rapprochement  between the Syrian government and the Turkish occupation state, and Turkey's goal from this rapprochement is to strike the project of the Autonomous Administration."
