Targeting a General Intelligence Department patrol in rural Damascus
Unidentified gunmen targeted a patrol belonging to the General Intelligence Department of the Damascus government forces in the city of Douma in the Damascus countryside.
Assassination operations against officers and members of the Damascus forces have clearly escalated in areas under the latter’s control, as unidentified gunmen targeted a General Intelligence Department patrol in the city of Douma in the Damascus countryside, before fleeing to an unknown destination, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
This operation is considered the third of its kind within the areas under the control of the Damascus forces during the past two days. Yesterday, unknown gunmen assassinated a member of the Internal Security Forces of the Damascus forces, in the city of Harasta in the Damascus countryside, and then fled to an unknown destination.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also documented the killing of an officer with the rank of “Captain” and the wounding of another officer with the same rank from the Damascus forces on April 15, in an attack launched by unknown gunmen, using RPG shells and machine guns, on a Damascus forces checkpoint near the village of Qarqas in the southeastern side from the Syrian Golan.
