The co- presidency of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) published a message on the occasion of May 1, International Workers’ Day, and stated that it wants to eliminate capitalist modernity, which has destroyed all human values, caused the drift toward environmental destruction and brought life to the brink of extinction, and establish a democratic, communal, equal, libertarian, and environmental life. Instead, she pointed out that the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan should be demanded on May 1 and the global freedom campaign should be strengthened.

The struggle of the working class against capitalist exploitation has progressed and is embraced by all oppressed social groups day after day. Today, it has become the struggle of women, youth and all social groups who struggle for equality, freedom and democracy against capitalist modernity. It has turned into a global struggle and has become the struggle of humanity. In this regard the struggle for socialism has not lost its importance at all. Rather, its significance has become greater and the responsibility of the socialist movement has increased. Today, the responsibility of all democratic liberation movements struggling against capitalist modernity has increased, especially socialist movements, as they have taken upon themselves the responsibility of eliminating the system of capitalist modernity and paving the way for the liberation of humanity. All of us, and working with this sense of responsibility, deepening this foundation, and taking strong steps will be decisive in eliminating the system of capitalist modernity and ending exploitation. Leader Apo fought for the freedom of all peoples

The Kurdistan freedom revolution developed in the context of the struggle for socialism. Leader Apo fought not only for the freedom of the Kurdish people, but for the freedom of all peoples and oppressed people. He always searched and tried for this goal, and made the awareness and position of the common struggle and common life with the struggle of the people. The Kurds are a part and a leading force in the struggle of the peoples of Turkey and the Middle East, and Leader Apo fought with all determination to develop this. The revolution that broke out in Rojava, and the development of the peoples of Iran and eastern Kurdistan in light of the philosophy of “Women, Life, Freedom,” and the decline of my party’s fascism Justice and Development, the nationalist movement in Turkey, and the developments achieved by the democratic forces are among the results of this insistence.
