In all his pleas, Leader Abdullah Ocalan focused on the importance of strengthening the popular will of oppressed peoples to confront policies of denial and extermination.

Political activists believe that the ideas and theses of Leader Abdullah Ocalan saved the peoples of the region from genocidal massacres since the start of the Syrian crisis.

Political activist Muhammad Baqi Quti believes that the Syrian crisis, since its beginning in 2011, would have been a genocide against the peoples of the region, had it not been for the thought and philosophy of leader Abdullah Ocalan, as he expresses the unification of the peoples of the region, based on the principle of the democratic nation

He added: "Syria is not like other countries in the Middle East. It is a beautiful mosaic of all components, races and religions. The enemies of the region, especially the Turkish occupation state, tried to strike the region on an ethnic basis and incite sectarian strife among the peoples of the region, but the thought and philosophy of the leader was able to eliminate this plans, and spreading the idea of the democratic nation and the brotherhood of peoples.”

Quti stated, "The war that is being waged against us now is the result of the special war policy pursued by the chauvinist countries, to melt the peoples of the region, especially the Kurdish people, who have a history in the region for thousands of years. But thanks to the philosophy of Leader Ocalan, and the wise and rational people in the region, and their belief in the ideas of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, they stood as an impenetrable barrier against these plans.”

He stressed that "were it not for the leader's ideas, the region would have gone through tribal wars on an ethnic and sectarian basis, and all the equipment and weapons were ready, to the point that the components were injected with racist and sectarian ideas, but thanks to those responsible for spreading the thought of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, they were able to disseminate his ideas to the tribal sheikhs and the young woman, and they destroyed these plans."

Activist Zahra Abdullah Muhammad said on the subject: “The thought of Leader Abdullah Ocalan had a great impact on strengthening the popular will of all components of the region, including Arabs, Kurds, and Assyrians, and their involvement in the freedom movement brought by Leader Abdullah Ocalan.”

She continued: “The thought of Leader Abdullah Ocalan fundamentally affected the Arab component, especially women, because societies lived under customs and traditions that marginalized women, and thanks to the thought of Leader Ocalan, women were able to transcend these customs and traditions, through their involvement within the institutions of self-administration and the military field.
