SDF: 3 ISIS leaders arrested, another killed

Within the framework of the military operations of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the security forces of the Internal Security Forces in NE Syria during the month of November, many ISIS mercenaries and mercenaries affiliated with the Damascus government who attempted to destabilize security and stability in the region were arrested.

According to ANHA agency,  the forces arrested 16 ISIS mercenaries, including leaders.

SDF operations

* Within a precise security operation by the Anti-Terrorism Units (YAT) of the Syrian Democratic Forces carried out in the city of Raqqa, the leader of ISIS mercenaries called “Muhammad Sakhr al-Bakr,” nicknamed “Khaled al-Shami,” was arrested.

He served as deputy leader of Wilayat al-Sham, and one of the participants in the attack on Al-Sinaa Prison in the city of Hasaka in January 2022.

* In the operation carried out on Monday, the 20th of the month in the town of Karama in the eastern countryside of Raqqa, the mercenary called Muhammad Mahmoud Hamada was arrested. He was active in smuggling the so-called “Cubs of the Caliphate” from the camps

* On the same date, SDF carried out an operation in the city of Hasaka, in which it arrested a mercenary from ISIS mercenary cells, who was active in carrying out attacks and bombings against the forces , citizens, and institutions of the Autonomous Administration in Hasaka, the SDF did not disclose his name.

Internal Security Forces operations

* In the operation carried out on Tuesday, November 7, a leader of ISIS mercenary cells was arrested in the countryside of the town of Tal Kochar in Qamishlo canton.

* In the operation carried out on Friday, November 10, a mercenary from the sabotage groups affiliated with the Damascus government was arrested and another was killed in addition seizing : 3 Kalashnikov weapons - 1 Brno rifle - 12 rifle magazines - 6 mobile phones - Thuraya communication device 1. 104 Kalashnikov ammunition - 2 military uniforms - 2 pistols with ammunition - 8 PKC ammunition - 28 hunting rifle ammunition.

* In the operation carried out on Sunday, November 12, two ISIS mercenaries were arrested north of Deir ez-Zor.

*In the operation carried out on Thursday, November 23, two ISIS mercenaries were arrested and a leader was killed in the countryside of Al-Shaddadi district of Hasaka canton. He was the so-called “Emir of Zakat of the Southern Region,” and was planning to target a number of security points in the southern region.

The forces found in their possession: a Kalashnikov weapon - 8 Kalashnikov magazines - an explosive belt with a detonator - a hand grenade - 2 military quivers.

* In a separate operation on the same date, 4 mercenaries from the Damascus government were arrested in Deir ez-Zor. They participated in sabotage operations, the forces found in their possession: 1 Kalashnikov rifle, 3 hunting rifles, 1 hand grenade, 3 mobile phones, a knife, and 6 magazines.

* In the operation carried out on Sunday, November 26, the so-called armament official for ISIS mercenary cells was arrested east of Deir ez-Zor.

* In the operation carried out by the Anti-Terrorism Forces (H.A.T) of the Internal Security Forces in NE Syria  on Wednesday, the 29th of the month, two members of sabotage groups affiliated with the Damascus government were arrested east of Deir ez-Zor, and their weapons and communications devices were seized.

The security operations of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Internal Security Forces coincide with responding to the attacks of the Turkish occupation state and its mercenaries on the region, and at a time when the countryside of Deir ez-Zor is witnessing attempts by mercenaries linked to the forces of the Damascus government to destabilize the security and stability of the region, and attack the points of the Security Forces and the SDF.
