The Reporters Without Borders network condemned, in a statement, the Turkish occupation state’s targeting of the Jetter media company’s crew, which led to the martyrdom of journalists Gulestan Tara and Hero Bahaa al-Din.

It was stated at the beginning of the statement: “Just one day after the Reporters Without Borders network warned of the increase in acts of violence against journalists in the Kurdistan region, yesterday the Turkish state killed the 2 journalists, Gulestan Tara and Hero Bahaa al-Din and injured 6 others in an air strike.

The statement stated that the director of the Reporters Without Borders network in the Middle East said: “After the killing of 3 journalists in just 2 months, the Kurdistan region has become one of the most dangerous places in the world for journalists. We strongly condemn this attack that claimed the lives of both journalists, Gulestan Tara and Hero Bahaa al-Din. 6 others were injured, and we call on the authorities in the regional government to uncover the crime and hold the Turkish state accountable.

Journalists must be protected and justice must be achieved for both journalist Gulistan Tara and Hero Bahaa al-Din.”
