Today, the Democratic Union Party (PYD) organized its first founding conference in Manbij Canton, under the slogan "Organization and Protection are the Basis of a Free Political and Democratic Society", attended by members of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Manbij Canton and its affiliated bodies, political parties, the Zenobia Women's Gathering Council, the Martyrs' Families Council, the Manbij Military Council and Women, the Bab Military Council, and members of the General Council of the Democratic Union Party in the hall of the Culture and Arts Center in Manbij city.
The member of the General Council of the Democratic Union Party, Abdul Hadi Ahmed said: "The conference is being held amidst the targeting of our regions and attempts to spread sedition and conflicts, and the Democratic Union Party has been playing a positive role in protecting society since the spread of the Syrian crisis."
He stressed that " Our revolution was a social one and will have positive results in resolving the country's crisis."
Then, the directives of Leader Abdullah Ocalan regarding the Democratic Nation Project were read by Hussein Al-Mashi, the member of the Tribal Youth Movement in Manbij Canton.
The Co-Chair of the Council of Martyrs' Families, Fatima Al-Muhammad, also delivered a speech in which she stressed that "we witness an important stage of the struggle and there are still many challenges and tasks that need to be accomplished, perhaps the most prominent of which is insistence and continuation on the path of the martyrs."
Then the attendees elected Maha Al-Haj Ali and Khader Muhammad as joint presidents of the party office in Manbij.
The conference ended with reading the conference outcomes after voting on them, which are:
Holding rallies and sit-ins denouncing the isolation imposed on Leader Abdullah Ocalan, holding seminars on the thought and philosophy of the Democratic Nation, forming educational groups to read the leader's pleadings, changing the location of the office for ease of communication, activating organizational committees to expand the party circle, activating and supporting women's and youth committees, holding public meetings to explain political developments, intensifying visits between all components of society, activating the role of community relations between all components of society in order to spread the culture of the revolutionary people's war, supporting the military forces, and conducting awareness campaigns to protect the gains of the revolution, teaching training courses for party members, qualifying party cadres, in addition to forming training committees for people.
