Roj News Agency, citing local sources today, reported that the Turkish occupation army bombed the villages of Sharbajir in the Mawat district of Sulaymaniyah, S. Kurdistan, causing significant material damage in the area, with no reports of human casualties.

Since the beginning of last July, the Turkish occupation army, in cooperation with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), has escalated its attacks and incursions into various areas of S. Kurdistan, occupying vast regions, particularly in Dohuk province. This has led to a large-scale displacement of residents and massive destruction of civilian property, amidst the silence of Iraqi authorities, with the defense of South Kurdistan being left solely to the People's Defense Forces (HPG).

An agreement was signed between the Iraqi authorities and Turkey on August 15, which has been seen by popular circles as legitimizing Turkey's occupation of Iraqi territories. The Secretary-General of the Al-Waad Al-Sadiq Brigade, Muhammad Al-Tamimi, described it in a statement as surrender and a concession of national sovereignty.
