The two lawyers traveled to Oslo to attend the parliamentary meeting at the invitation of the Norwegian Red Party (Rødt).

The meeting was attended by Red Party MPs Bjørnar Moxnes, Hege Bae Nyholt, and Seher Aydar, as well as representatives from the “Solidarity with Kurdistan” organization, the Democratic Community Center (NCDK), and officials from institutions in Rojava and South and East Kurdistan.

During the meeting, issues such as the isolation regime in Imrali, initiatives for peace processes, and the “Peace and Democratic Society” call issued by Leader Abdullah Ocalan on February 27 were discussed.

In the opening speech, lawyer Ibrahim Bilmez highlighted the process since the international conspiracy that led to Leader Ocalan's handover to Turkey. He stated that the Imrali prison system was established with support from international powers and emphasized that the policy of torture and annihilation is not applied solely to Leader Abdullah Ocalan but to all of Kurdistan.

Bilmez also referred to what he described as “the second phase of the peace process,” highlighting key political signals, including Omar Ocalan’s visit to Imrali and statements by Turkish Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli calling for Leader Ocalan to speak in parliament.

He noted that a recent meeting between Leader Ocalan and a visiting delegation showed that Leader Ocalan is ready to shift the conflict toward a legal and political framework, describing this as a realistic opportunity for a comprehensive peaceful solution.

For his part, lawyer Cengiz Çiçek stated that Leader Ocalan’s call for “peace and democratic society” has received broad support across Kurdistan and the Middle East. He stressed the importance of international monitoring of this initiative.

During the meeting, Red Party MP Bjørnar Moxnes expressed interest in closely following the process, noting that Leader Ocalan’s call is of great importance amid current developments. He asked about the kind of support needed from the Norwegian side. Bilmez responded that the Kurdish issue has become an international matter and that a political solution requires ongoing support from various influential parties.

The meeting concluded with answering the participants' questions, while the two lawyers continue a program of meetings and activities in the Norwegian capital, Oslo, in the coming days.
