Israeli Forces set up checkpoint in Quneitra after shelling Daraa

An Israeli force advanced into the central Quneitra countryside and set up a checkpoint, inspecting passersby, as Israeli shelling early today struck areas in the Yarmouk Basin in western Daraa countryside.

An Israeli force advanced today to the junction of Rasem al-Halabi village in the central Quneitra countryside, where it set up a checkpoint and searched passersby, according to local sources cited by ANHA correspondent.

The sources said the force consisted of about nine military vehicles and established the checkpoint at the village junction. No information has so far emerged about arrests or injuries resulting from the incursion.

The move came as Israeli shelling early today struck areas in the Yarmouk Basin in western Daraa countryside. Israeli forces targeted Wadi Abdeen, Wadi al-Raqad and the outskirts of Jumla with several artillery shells, with no injuries reported.

Southern Syria has witnessed repeated Israeli military activity, including incursions, the establishment of checkpoints and searches in the Quneitra countryside, as well as artillery shelling targeting areas in Quneitra, Daraa and Damascus countryside.
