The Executive Council of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) expressed condolences to the family of the politician Haji Ahmedi, the people of Kurdistan, and members of the KNK and the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) upon his death, stating, "The passing of Haji Ahmedi is a great loss, and we will follow in his footsteps and work to fulfill his wishes and legacy."

The Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) issued a statement today to the public, offering condolences for the death of founding member Haji Ahmedi. The statement was addressed to all the people of Kurdistan, KNK members, PJAK members and their supporters, revolution workers, and his family. It read:
"We received the sad and tragic news of the death of the founding member of the Kurdistan National Congress, Mr. Haji Ahmedi, and we are deeply saddened and mournful. Mr. Haji Ahmedi came to Germany in 1964 as a Kurdish student. At that time, there was only one Kurdish organization in Europe, the Kurdish Student Association, and Mr. Haji Ahmedi became a member of this association and participated in national activities. Later, he traveled to Czechoslovakia to continue his studies, and in Prague, he became a companion to the late President Abdul Rahman Qasemlo, eventually becoming a member of the Iranian Kurdistan Democratic Party (HDK-Î). At the beginning of the Iranian revolution in 1979, he traveled with Mr. Qasemlo to East Kurdistan and participated in the early stages of the East Kurdistan revolution, playing an active role in the Iranian Kurdistan Democratic Party at a leadership level. He later returned to Europe as a foreign relations official for the Iranian Kurdistan Democratic Party (HDK-Î).
Until the last day of his life, he remained an active worker in the national cause. He became a member of the Kurdistan Parliament in Exile (PKDW), and later also became a founding member of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) and a long-standing member of its Executive Council. He continued as an active member of the KNK until his death. In 2004, he participated in the founding conference of the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK) as a founding member and was elected the party’s general president.
Mr. Haji Ahmedi was an active member of the KNK for 26 years and served as a long-time member of its Executive Council. He was a prominent figure in all the KNK’s work, activities, and meetings and had an important role, particularly in the activities of East Kurdistan. When the "Women, Life, Freedom" uprisings began following the martyrdom of Jina Amini, Comrade Haji Ahmedi participated in the protests and engaged in the uprising despite his deteriorating health and advanced age.
The passing of Comrade Haji Ahmedi is a great loss for us, the people of Kurdistan, and the Kurdish revolution. We are deeply saddened by his death and share the pain of his family and friends. On this occasion, we offer our condolences to all the people of Kurdistan, members of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK), members of the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK), their supporters, revolution workers, and his family. May Comrade Haji Ahmedi rest in peace. We will follow in your footsteps and work to fulfill your wishes and legacy."
