Syrian Ministry of Higher Education delegation visits Kobanê University

Today, a delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the transitional government visited Kobanê University. The delegation included Syrian Deputy Minister of Higher Education Abdul Hamid Al-Khaled, President of Aleppo University Osama Raadoun, Secretary of the Higher Education Council Ali Al-Jassem, as well as officials assigned by the Ministry of Higher Education to serve on the integration committee. The delegation held extensive discussions with university administrators regarding the university’s integration process and its future.

Following the meeting, a joint statement was issued addressing the importance of recognizing degrees issued by Kobanê University, in addition to discussing the general situation of students in the coming years.

The statement highlighted the academic status of Kobanê University from its establishment to the present day, noting that the university had taken important steps under the most difficult circumstances, in addition to the role it is expected to play during the current phase.

The statement explained that all degrees issued by the university would be recognized following its integration, noting that the matter would be referred to the Higher Education Council, on the basis of which a decision regarding recognition would be made.
