The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs proposes the idea of establishing a "cooperation council" between Iraq and Syria, and indicated that the "anti-ISIS operations room" will see the light soon.

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein announced during a press conference with the foreign minister of the Damascus authority the idea of establishing a "cooperation council" between Iraq and Syria, while noting that the "anti-ISIS operations room" will see the light soon.
Hussein added about the meeting, which brought the two sides together: "We talked about the movements of ISIS on the Iraqi-Syrian border. We respect good neighborly relations and do not interfere in the affairs of countries, and the Iraqi experience may benefit Syrians in facing security challenges."
"The events in the Syrian coast were discussed and we expressed our concern about what is happening," he said, stressing "the need for international co-operation in order to eliminate ISIS".
The Iraqi minister stressed that "stability in Syria concerns Iraq, as it directly affects the situation in the country," stressing that "relations with Syria are historical and we discussed the development of economic relations between the two countries to be a common benefit for the two peoples."
