The Kurdistan Human Rights Network reported that the Endowment Court in the Iranian city of Hamedan issued the 15-year prison sentence against a cleric named Sabir Khodamoradi.

He was informed of the sentence by phone, a move that has sparked significant outrage among activists and observers.

This punishment follows Khodamoradi’s earlier summons last year to the Endowment Court in Hamedan, where he was sentenced to seven and a half months in prison and 74 lashes for allegedly supporting the "Woman, Life, Freedom" movement, conspiring against the government, and inciting public opinion.

Observers note that the latest sentence reflects the Iranian authorities' tightening measures against those they deem opponents or critics of their policies, amid growing calls from human rights organizations to reconsider these rulings, which are seen as "restrictions on freedom of expression.”
