The brigade’s fighters underwent a 21-day military training course in the city of Al-Nabk in the Damascus countryside, which concluded in late August.

The commander of the Fourth Infantry Battalion of the Hasakah Brigade, Masoud Kalash, told ANHA agency that they had returned to their military bases in Hasakah after being integrated into the Syrian army and completing their training course in Damascus.

“We were previously on standby to defend Syria and its people. Today, we have officially joined the Syrian army, and we are ready to defend Syria against any internal or external attacks. Our integration came with the aim of protecting all components of the Syrian people,” he said.

Field officer in the Hasakah Brigade Ziad Ali said: “For 14 years, we have carried arms in defense of our land and people. Today, we have officially become part of the Syrian army, and we will continue to carry arms in defense of our people and our areas.”

He affirmed their readiness to protect Syria across its various regions, stressing that the sacrifices of the martyrs would remain present and that they would continue to follow in their footsteps.

The agreement reached between the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the Syrian transitional government on January 29 this year stipulated the formation of four brigades from SDF fighters. Three of them are to be deployed in the Jazira Canton, in Hasakah, Derik and Qamishlo, while another brigade is designated for the city of Kobani.
