Iranian authorities arrest political activist.
Iranian authorities arrested a political activist without a warrant, and a court sentenced six Baha'i citizens to prison.

Iranian authorities arrested former political activist Motahereh Kanaei in Tehran without a judicial warrant and transferred her to an unknown location, according to the Voice of Kurdish and Iranian Detainees website, citing Roj News Agency.
According to sources, the arrest was related to activity related to the recent Israeli attacks on Iran, and authorities charged her with "security-related offenses."
In a related development, the Revolutionary Court in Alborz sentenced six Baha'i citizens residing in Karaj—Naghmeh Mirza Agha, Mahin Soad Tamand, Mahshid Saeedi, Samar Masoudi, Mona Zakai, and Nasser Rajab—to ten months in prison each, along with a two-year travel ban, on charges of "propaganda against the state."
These developments come amid ongoing violations against religious and political minorities in Iran. The annual report issued by Iranian human rights organizations indicated that 72% of the country's Baha'i citizens have been subjected to human rights violations over the past three years.
