Sherifa Mohammadi was arrested by Iranian authorities and sentenced to death on charges of "armed rebellion against the Iranian regime", involvement with the Komala Party, and organizing activities against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The campaign to protect political and civil detainees confirmed the death sentence against Sherifa Mohammadi, describing it as a declaration of war and punishment against social and civil activists. They urged the overturning of the ruling and the unconditional release of Sherifa Mohammadi.

It should be noted that Iranian authorities arrested Sherifa Mohammadi (Mother of a child) along with her husband on charges of involvement with the Komala Party.

This comes in the aftermath of the second round of Iranian presidential elections, characterized by low turnout of only 40% in the first round, due to boycotts, especially by women who refrained from voting under a repressive regime that targets and undermines their freedom.
