The city of Qamishlo is preparing to host the “Syrian Shopping Festival,” organized by Al-Shamal Advertising and Promotion Company in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture in Hasakah Governorate. The festival aims to showcase locally produced goods and manufactured products and boost commercial activity, with the participation of Syrian and international companies operating in Syria, alongside a daily artistic program.

Complaints from residents and property owners are mounting in parts of Damascus over measures taken by the Damascus Governorate against buildings constructed by their owners on their privately owned land. This comes amid the absence of a clear and final zoning plan for some parts of the area. Residents say larger violations, including the expansion of car dealerships and car-related businesses at the eastern entrance to the capital, are not being dealt with with the same level of strictness.

Financial pressures on farmers in the Jazira are worsening as Syria’s transitional government continues to pay wheat crop dues in installments, while farmers face sharply rising production costs and reduced agricultural support. Farmers say the first payment is insufficient even to cover their basic obligations, warning that delays in receiving their dues and the absence of a clear payment schedule could leave many unable to prepare their land for the next agricultural season, threatening agricultural stability in the region.
