The Secretary of the Kurdish Democratic Unity Party in Syria (Yekiti), Mohieddin Sheikh Ali, described the convening of the "Conference for Kurdish Unity in Position and Ranks" as historic.  The world celebrates International Workers’ Day on May 1st, in commemoration of the 1886 Chicago incident, when workers protested demanding shorter working hours. This day has been observed since 1889 to advocate for workers’ rights and better working conditions.

 Under the slogan: “With the call of peace and democratic society, let us celebrate May 1st together,” residents of the cities of Tirbespiyê, Tal Hamis, Qamishlo, and Amuda will celebrate International Workers’ Day in the Mizkeft Dam Reserve area near Tirbespiyê. Another celebration will be held in the village of Suwaydiyah with participation from residents of Dêrik, Çil Axa, Til Koçer, and Garki Lêkê at 11:00 a.m. In the city of Hasakah, a celebration will be held in the April 4th Park with participation from the residents of Hasakah, Darbasiyah, Tal Tamr, Tal Barak, al-Hol, and al-Shaddadi at 6:00 p.m. (Photos and video attached).
