Muhyiddin Sheikh Ali describes conference of unity of position; ranks as historic

The Kurdish Democratic Unity Party in Syria (Yekiti) Secretary, Muhyiddin Sheikh Ali, analyzed the value of the accomplishment the Kurdish political movement in Syria attained by the conference on "Unity of Position and Rank in Rojava Kurdistan," which took place on April 26 in Qamishlo, and how this accomplishment will play a positive role in Syria's future.

Muhyiddin Sheikh Ali described the conference as "historic," saying, "The conference is a symbol and a positive step. It is the first time in the history of Syria and the history of our Kurdish people that such an expanded conference has been held, and it is welcomed by all our Kurdish people."

Sheikh Ali made clear that the conference was called to reach a collective formula and unite the discourse of the Kurdish political movement, and to explain what do the Kurds in Syria want and what can they do. This agreement will be in the interest of the unity of the Syrian people, because Syria is for the Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs, and other constituents. Syria is for Islam, Christians, and Yazidis. Syria is for everyone. Therefore, this agreement was an urgent historic necessity.

Sheikh Ali said, "The agreement was signed in order to build a new Syria, free of chauvinism and hatred towards the Kurdish people and other components. We want a new Syria."

Sheikh Ali said, "The Draft Agreement was offered by the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, and we view positively the messages of support and backing from Masoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, and from the considerable parties in Southern and Northern Kurdistan that supported and participated in the conference."

Sheikh Ali urged the Kurdish political movement to perform a more effective role than in the past and to do its duty in defending the interests of the Kurdish people and ensuring their national rights in the future Syrian constitution.

Sheikh Ali stressed, "If the Kurds are fine, then Syria will be fine, and if Syria is fine, then the Kurds will be fine."

The Secretary of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Unity Party (Yekiti) emphasized the importance of continued work, saying, "We, the Kurdish political parties, are in debt to our people, to the martyrs, the martyrs of the Syrian Democratic Forces, and the martyrs of freedom."
