The command of the Free Syria Army, which is deployed in al-Tanf and parts of the Syrian desert, issued an immediate mobilization order to its units in the desert following reports of ISIS mercenary movements.

According to sources from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the mobilization order was confirmed and communicated to all units today.

Simultaneously, the Defense Ministry under the Damascus government has declared full readiness amid growing fears of surprise attacks or ambushes, particularly with ISIS cells moving in the desert stretching from eastern Homs countryside to Deir ez-Zor — raising concerns about renewed escalation in the region.

We’ve received live footage from Damascus showing security forces on alert and active in the city.

This follows the release of a video statement by ISIS via its media channels, in which it directly threatened the government of Ahmad al-Sharaa, the head of Damascus authorities, accusing it of "deviating from Sharia" and vowing "upcoming ground actions."

A week earlier, the U.S. State Department warned American citizens residing in Syria of “imminent attacks” that could endanger their lives.

The official website of the U.S. State Department stated: “The U.S. Department of State has received ‘credible information’ regarding possible imminent attacks in Syria, including at locations frequented by tourists.”

The U.S. State Department issued a Level 4 travel advisory, stating clearly: “Do not travel.”

It added that “no part of Syria should be considered safe from violence.”

Last night, the Syrian Observatory reported that an armed group, likely affiliated with ISIS, set up a temporary checkpoint in the triangle area near the city of Palmyra in eastern Homs countryside. The group stopped passersby and checked their IDs.

According to the Observatory’s sources, the group’s members were riding seven motorcycles. They later withdrew toward the village of Jazal in the eastern countryside, passing through the Doua area, amid heightened security tensions in the region.

It’s worth noting that Jazal is known for housing an oil field, which has been a frequent target of ISIS attacks in past years.
