3rd convoy for return of Serê Kaniyê IDPs to Depart Hasakah on Sunday

The Committee for the Displaced from Serê Kaniyê/Ras al-Ain announced that the third convoy for the return of displaced people will depart next Sunday from the city of Hasakah, with the participation of more than 500 families from shelters and schools, heading toward their areas of origin in the southern countryside, extending from the town of Manajir to Tal Halaf, west of the city.

As part of the ongoing arrangements to facilitate the return of displaced people from Serê Kaniyê/Ras al-Ain to their areas, the Displaced Persons Committee is preparing to launch the third convoy from the city of Hasakah next Sunday.

The committee told ANHA's agency that the convoy will include more than 500 families, although the number may change, and that it will depart from shelters and schools in the city of Hasakah.

It explained that the participating families are originally from the southern countryside of Serê Kaniyê, and that their areas of return extend from the town of Manajir to the town of Tal Halaf, west of the city.

The convoy comes as part of ongoing efforts to return displaced people from Serê Kaniyê to their areas after years of displacement.

The second convoy of displaced people from Serê Kaniyê residing in the Serê Kaniyê Camp in the city of Hasakah, which included around 700 families, or approximately 7,000 people, returned on September 8 to around 55 villages in the countryside of the city, Zerghan, and Tal Tamr.
