Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati affirmed that there are substantial Egyptian-Saudi efforts via the Quad Mechanism to halt the war in Sudan swiftly, in coordination with the United States and the United Arab Emirates.

During a press conference with Maldives Foreign Minister Abdullah Khalil today, Abdel Aati said Egypt is primarily concerned with Sudan and is working to rapidly reach a humanitarian truce to cease hostilities. He also emphasized Egypt’s full support for the Sudanese state and its military institution.

Abdel Aati expressed hope for mutual understanding among all parties to end the aggression in Al-Fashir, stop the influx of weapons from abroad, and initiate the political process. He added that Egypt closely monitors all matters related to achieving security and stability there and in the broader region.
