As a part of the collective coordination between the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, the Security Committee, and Migration and Displacement Committee of the Iraqi Parliament, today a new batch of Iraqi families who were residing in Al-Hol Camp were repatriated.

The new batch comprised 239 Iraqi families, making a total of 944 people.

The return journey was made under tight escort by the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) in North and East Syria with the support of international coalition forces to ensure the security of the final stage of the transfer of the Iraqi families to Iraq.

This action is part of a series of attempts to ensure that Iraqi refugees from al-Hol Camp are repatriated to their homelands.

Al-Hol Camp has been termed as one of the most dangerous camps in the world as it accommodates approximately 13,000 Iraqi refugees and 15,000 internally displaced Syrians, in addition to 6,385 women and children of foreign ISIS mercenaries.
