Arbitrary Kidnappings in Kurdish Town of Tal Aran
Armed groups attacked a number of residents of the Kurdish town of Tal Aran, located in the eastern countryside of Aleppo. The kidnappings, which have so far targeted dozens of young men, were accompanied by verbal and physical assaults, for no apparent reason.
The Kurdish town of Tal Aran, located in the eastern countryside of Aleppo, has recently witnessed kidnappings, assaults, and attacks on civilian homes by armed groups whose affiliation remains unknown.
The masked attackers stormed the village, armed with heavy weapons such as Dushka machine guns, smashing into the homes of some residents, and kidnapping dozens of civilians. We had not been able to obtain their names by the time this report was prepared.
Several local sources confirmed to ANHA agency's correspondent that the kidnappings were carried out with the aim of blackmailing residents into paying bribes to a number of corrupt members of the security forces. They held the Damascus authorities fully responsible for these practices, as they control the village.
It is worth noting that the towns of Tal Aran and Tal Hasel witnessed a massacre on July 28, 2013, at the hands of Turkish occupation mercenaries, which claimed the lives of hundreds of civilians.
