Israeli strikes target sites in northern countryside of Homs
Israel launched air strikes near the city of Homs, according to an agency affiliated with the Damascus government, quoting a military source.

The source said: "At about 00:20 in the morning, the Israeli enemy carried out an air attack from the direction north-east of Beirut, targeting some points in the vicinity of the city of Homs."
Media affiliated with the Damascus government said that the air defenses responded to an Israeli missile attack that targeted some points in the vicinity of the city of Homs, and most of the missiles were shot down.
A statement by the Damascus government army said that the missiles hit sites in the vicinity of the city of Homs, causing only material damage.
In the context, the Israeli army spokesman, Avichai Adraei, said that Israeli warplanes "targeted the Syrian air defense battery from which an anti-aircraft missile was fired at Israel earlier."
He added that the planes also attacked other targets in the area, while there were no reports of casualties from the Syrian missile.
An Israeli military spokesman said earlier that the missile, which was fired from Syrian territory exploded in the air.
In turn, the Syrian Observatory reported that violent explosions were heard that shook the Homs region and its northern countryside, caused by a new Israeli targeting of Syrian lands, and that they affected the northeastern outskirts of Homs.
The Observatory suggested that there were ammunition depots belonging to pro-Iranian groups in the targeting area, amidst the air defenses of the Damascus government and the sound of ambulances heading to the targeted locations.
