Turkish presidential elections to run off tomorrow

Tomorrow (May 28), the second round of the Turkish presidential elections will be held, in which the two candidates will compete. Kilicdaroglu and Erdogan.

Parliamentary and presidential elections were held in Bakur Kurdistan (Northern Kurdistan) and Turkey on May 14, and the candidate of the People's Alliance, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, and the candidate of the People's Alliance, competed in the (first round). Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the candidate of the Grandparents Alliance (Ata) Sinan Ogan, while the head of the Balad Party, Muharrem Ince, withdrew just 3 days before the elections (May 11).

YSK announced, in a statement, the official and final results of the presidential elections on May 19, and according to these results; Recep Tayyip Erdogan scored 49.24 percent, Kemal Kilicdaroglu scored 45.07 percent, and Sinan Ogan scored 5.28 percent.

Thus, no presidential candidate was able to win the presidential elections in its first round, as none of them achieved (50 + 1 percent) of the votes, and it was decided to hold a second round of elections.

According to the program of the Turkish Supreme Elections Commission, the second round of the Turkish presidential elections will be held tomorrow, Sunday (May 28), in which the two candidates who achieved the largest percentage of votes in the first round, namely Erdogan and Kilicdaroglu will compete.

This percentage (50 + 1 percent) is not taken into account in the second round, but the candidate who gets the largest percentage of votes wins the elections.
