Turkish elections to 2d round, AKP defeated in Bakur Kurdistan

The presidential and parliamentary elections were held in Bakur (Northern Kurdistan) and Turkey yesterday (May 14), and after the voting ended, the votes were counted, which continued until dawn today (May 15), while the participating coalitions published the results, according to their centers designated to monitor the counting of votes.

The head of the Supreme Elections Authority (YSK) Ahmet Yener stated yesterday evening that the counting of 91.93 votes has been completed and its results revealed.

According to this statement, each presidential candidate won the following percentage of votes:

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, 49.49 percent

Kemal Kilicdaroglu 44.79 percent

Sinan Ogan 5.29 percent

According to these results, no candidate won the percentage required to win, which is (50% + 1), while the official results were not revealed, and thus the presidential elections will move to the second round.

According to what was revealed by the Supreme Elections Commission, the second round will be held on May 28, during which the two candidates who won the largest number of votes, namely Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Kemal Kilicdaroglu.

In this round, the percentage (51 percent) will not be taken into account, and the Turkish presidency will be won by the candidate who won the largest percentage of votes.

Results of the parliamentary elections

As for the results of the parliamentary elections; The ruling party (the Justice and Development Party) lost in Bakur Kurdistan and was defeated again.

According to the results revealed by Ahmed Yener, the parties; The left-wing Greens, EMEP, Justice and Development, National Movement, Welfare, Great Union, Republican People will enter Parliament.

The leftist Green Party in Kurdistan became the first party.
