Meeting between Mazloum Abdi and Nechirvan Barzani

Mazloum Abdi, advisor to the Syrian presidency, met with Nechirvan Barzani, president of the Kurdistan Region, in Erbil.

According to a statement issued by the Kurdistan Region Presidency, "the general situation in Syria, the situation of the Kurds in that country, and the latest developments in the region were discussed, with both sides emphasizing the importance of maintaining calm and stability."

According to the statement, Nechirvan Barzani expressed "the Kurdistan Region's support for a safe and stable Syria in which the rights of the Kurds and all components are protected," noting "the importance of strengthening relations and cooperation between Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with Syria."

For his part, Mazloum Abdi expressed his "praise and appreciation for the position and support of the President of the Kurdistan Region for the rights of the Kurds and his pursuit of peace and stability."
