Individualized war decisions by KDP, disputes inside KRG

The Kurdistan Democratic Party is waging a media campaign to mislead Kurdish public opinion and incite it against the Peoples' Defense Forces HPG, and it is trying to involve the rest of the Kurdish parties in the war, which is being prepared against Guerilla fighters.

However, media sources from southern Kurdistan confirmed that the decision to mobilize forces to Guerilla areas concerns the KDP only, without the knowledge of the rest of the parties and even without the knowledge of the Peshmerga Ministry.

Roj news agency quoted sources from within the Kurdistan Regional Government that the meeting held by the Council of Ministers of the region yesterday, November 4, and its issuance of the latest statement regarding the tensions occurring in Çemankê district in Dohuk aroused the anger of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

According to the source, the meeting tried to address the issue as if it represented the opinion of the government as a whole, and a disagreement arose between the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the other party that controls the joints of the ministries, represented by KDP.

The source revealed that the Minister of Culture and Youth, Muhammad Hama Saeed, who is close to the Patriotic Union, said during the meeting that he was against issuing the statement, and he directed his question to Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, "With what right will we fight the Kurdish workers PKK at a time when we do not know why we are fighting this war? Barzani responded to him" By saying: " the prime minister who decides this, not you, and therefore if this war breaks out, you will sit behind the tables, and you have no relationship with the matter."

On the other hand, Peshmerga Minister Şoreş Ismail expressed his dissatisfaction with moving the force to the border areas without his knowledge and decision, according to Roj News.

Jalal Ibrahim, a former political bureau member in the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, told the agency: "The KDP called on the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan to hold a parliamentary session that would grant legitimacy to confront the PKK, and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan rejected this invitation."
