Iraqi security forces killed in an ISIS attack north of the country

Iraqi Security Media Cell reported that four members of the Federal Police Forces have been killed in an ISIS mercenaries attack in northern Iraq on Tuesday.

The cell said in a statement: "Four members were killed, and an officer and two members of the Federal Police Force were wounded after ISIS terrorist gangs opened indirectly fire at them yesterday.

It added, "The force that was attacked was the second regiment in the 12th Brigade of the Third Division of the Federal Police, in Hawija district, Kirkuk governorate."

Since the beginning of this year, Iraqi forces have intensified combing and raid operations in pursuit of ISIS remnants, in conjunction with the increasing frequency of attacks by armed groups suspected of affiliation with ISIS, especially in the area between Kirkuk, Salah al-Din, and Diyala.
