​​​​​​​Sadikoun Bloc: We are about to take measures to respond to Turkish attacks

The member of Sadikoun bloc, MP Fadel al-Fatlawi told the Iraqi news agency (INA): "The government is required to take three measures; stopping commercial activity with the Turkish side, presenting a complaint to the UN Security Council, and withdrawing the Iraqi ambassador from Turkey," pointing out that "repeated attacks must be confronted by the Iraqi side with diplomatic and economic measures."

He added that "the repetition of the Turkish attacks on Iraqi lands is a blatant violation, and there must be a strong response from the government and parliament," noting that "his bloc demanded more than once to hold an emergency session to discuss these attacks."

Earlier, the government spokesman Ahmed Mulla Talal confirmed the government's rejection of the Turkish attacks on the Iraqi lands.

Mulla Talal said in a statement: "The Turkish forces have been carrying out repeated attacks on the Iraqi lands for some time, and we strongly reject and condemn these acts that harm the close long-standing relations between the two friendly peoples, calling for an immediate cessation of these attacks which harm the regional peace, as well as posing an attack on the Iraqi sovereignty, lives and property."

He added: "The Iraqi government delivered two official protest letters to the Turkish ambassador in Baghdad with strong language, and affirms that it will resort within the framework of international law and conventions to establish Iraq's right to reject and stop these attacks."
