A triple move in response to Turkey ... a gas pipeline from Israel to Europe

Netanyahu will meet with the heads of government of these countries, and this summit comes after it was held last month, a number of talks with the Cypriot President and the President of the Greek government, during which they agreed to hold the summit, during which the East-Med gas pipeline agreement from Israel, via Cyprus, will be signed. Greece is on the way to Europe.

 This summit is a continuation of the Leaders' Summit that took place last March with the participation of US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

The Gas Agreement is an intergovernmental agreement, which is a continuation of the understandings signed in 2017, which followed a preliminary feasibility study.

The agreement that will be signed, will include the commitment of these countries to establish the project, where the various Israeli ministries, headed by the Ministry of Energy, and the Prime Minister’s Office in recent years, are working on the project, which contributes to securing European energy and Israeli economic prosperity.

According to the Israeli media, the agreement will constitute a symbolic but important step aimed at strengthening the position of Greece and Cyprus vis-a-vis Turkey, as Netanyahu stressed in a letter sent to the leaders of the two countries that the agreement between Turkey and Libya "is illegal, therefore it is necessary to respond and sign the gas pipeline agreement with Greece and Cyprus" ".

Netanyahu stressed earlier in a message he sent to the leaders of Greece and Cyprus, in which he said: "The gas agreement between Turkey and Libya is illegal, so we must respond and sign the gas pipeline agreement with Greece and Cyprus.

On November 27, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and President of the Accord Government, Fayez al-Sarraj, signed two memoranda of understanding, which sparked regional and international outrage.
