Iran , Russia plan to conduct joint military exercise in Caspian Sea
The commander of the Iranian navy's naval forces, Admiral Hussein Khanzadi, said that Russia and Iran intend to conduct a joint naval exercise for their armies in the Caspian Sea.

Khanzadi told Mehr news agency that cooperation between the Iranian and Russian navies and the naval forces of the Caspian countries has been greatly enhanced in recent years adding "This maneuver will strengthen the military and strategic cooperation between the two countries."
Khanzadi said, "The Caspian states will not allow any foreign power in their waters," Khanzadi said the idea of joint exercises comes as a result of cooperation between the Iranian and Russian navies.
Iran and Russia conducted a number of naval exercises in the Caspian Sea, most notably in 2015 and 2017.
