Sudanese police fired tear gas in central of Khartoum to disperse a march called by professionals to demand the departure of President Omar al-Bashir.

The Sudanese authorities arrested 14 professors from the University of Khartoum, while organizing a protest against the deteriorating economic conditions.

In the related context, Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir dismissed the health minister for rising drug prices, while groups organizing protests against the government called for a march to the presidential palace.
