Opening first women's psychological health center in al-Jazeera region

The center of the Martyr Nalîn Mûş which was opened by the Women's Body in al-Jazeera region in North Syria on 8 March, located in Tel-Maarof southwest Tirbê Sipiyê district about15 km to treat women who are suffering from psychological illnesses and provide all medical services for them like housing and special needs. In addition to their interest in health in terms of examining and providing the necessary drugs for them.

The center is supervised by 5 women specialists. The center has 3 medical centers in the cities of Qamishlo and al-Hasakah and Çilaxa town. The center brings doctors specialized by psychologists to the center to examine the patients when needed. So far, he has managed to treat dozens of women.

The center also monitors the patients after their recovery and return home to ensure their safety.

Administrator of the Women's Development and Planning Center in Women Body in al-Jazeera region Xelat Sheikhmous explained that the aim of the center's opening is to be a destination for women who are suffering from psychological illnesses, in order to provide them with health and morale support.

She explained that some cases require permanent monitoring for several months and touched upon the existence of a recently treatet case. She came to the center suffering from psychological and familial problems. After undergoing treatment for 3 months, her health improving, she returned home.

Xelat Sheikhmous pointed to the center’s needs for some drugs for psychiatric cases, and appealed to the Health Body in al-Jazeera region to extend a helping hand to them and provide medicines and psychiatrists specialized for the center, since the center sometimes needs specialized doctors for treating patients.

She explained that the door of the center is opened to all women who are suffering from psychological illness and can visit the center at any time.
