Young Women Union: Revolt, Fight, Liberate Kurdistan

The Young Women's Union in Serê Kaniyê city in al-Hasaka canton issued a statement under the slogan, "Revolt, Fight and Liberate Kurdistan." The statement was read by Tijan Tawil at Afaf School. The statement condemned the Turkish state’s occupation of Afrin and its attacks on Başûr Kurdistan.

The text of the statement included:

"Genocide attacks on Kurdistan by the fascist have been ongoing for hundreds of years. The attacks on Afrin started under the leadership of the occupying Turkish state and it strives to continue carrying out its attacks on Başûr on the basis of eliminating the Kurdish people by escalating AKP –MHP's fascism and their brutal attacks.

For a long time, the Turkish state has been bombing Guerilla sites, as well as the places where the civilians live in as they are subjected to brutal attacks. In the face of these attacks, the people of Başûr; young men and women headed towards Qandil Mountains. This indicates that young women are the leaders of society and that the people of Başûr Kurdistan reject this occupation. Protecting and defending the land in this period is more important than food and water for the Kurds.

We, as the Young Women Union, appeal to all youths and young women to go to the fronts of resistance, defend their land and revolt against the occupation."

Furthermore, the statement ended with the slogan "Revolt, Fight, and Liberate Kurdistan."
