Youth Council holds first post-conference meeting in Hasaka

The meeting, held on Friday, December 5, 2025, in Hasakah, included youth from Armenian, Syriac, Kurdish, and Arab communities, and was attended by the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC), Mahmoud Al-Masalat, and the co-chair of the SDC Relations Office, Hassan Mohammed Ali. The meeting followed the third conference of the Syrian Democratic Youth Council, which was held on September 1, 2025.

The meeting began with a moment of silence, followed by the reading of the work report and activities that took place after the conference, presented by the co-chair of the Syrian Democratic Youth Council, Salman Al-Nabhan.

After the report, the SDC co-chair, Mahmoud Al-Masalat, delivered a speech in which he said:

"We provide support to young people so they can advance in their fields of work. Under the current circumstances—political and societal—we must remain united. The region is going through difficult times, and youth are the future of this society. Therefore, we must strengthen ourselves. Our youth need awareness, and this is your responsibility."

The co-chair of the SDC Relations Office, Hassan Mohammed Ali, also reviewed the political situation, saying:

"The transitional government continues to manage the scene with the same mentality and tools of the former regime. We are determined to activate the March 10 Agreement. Society, in all its sectors, is waiting for serious steps toward implementing this message."

Afterwards, the draft of the internal regulations, previously approved at the third conference, was read and presented again for discussion.

As the meeting continued, the internal regulations of the Syrian Democratic Youth Council were read, discussed, and proposals regarding them were submitted.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Syrian Democratic Youth Council announced the formation of its General Council. The meeting ended with the following points:

1. Work on establishing joint forums for Syrian youth through Syrian youth movements and organizations.

2. Conduct organizational tours in Syrian provinces.

3. Hold seminars on the role of youth in building a new Syria.

4. Organize joint activities on awareness messaging and the role of coexistence among communities.

5. Organize activities related to the role of youth in the process of transitional justice.

6. Establish youth and student alliances across Syria.
