YPJ celebrates 11th anniversary of founding

On the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the founding of YPJ,  the Units in the Al-Shaddadi district of Hasakah organized a celebration on the 11th anniversary of their founding.

The member of the General Command of the Women’s Protection Units, Suzdar Derik  congratulated the leader Abdullah Ocalan, the martyrs of the Rojava Revolution, and all the women who struggled to protect the gains and lands of Kurdistan, on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of YPJ.

Derik pointed out that women have been excluded from their natural role in society by the dominant male regimes, but through their resistance and struggle, they are trying to regain their role again, and this appears in the struggle of Kurdish, Arab, Armenian, Assyrian, and Syriac women."

Suzdar Derik praised the resistance shown by the units against ISIS mercenaries and the attacks of the Turkish occupation state, and explained that this resistance was not limited to the military aspect only, but was against the male mentality and the enslavement imposed on women for hundreds of years."

Suzdar Derik stated that the remarkable joining of women to the activities of March 8 (International Women’s Day) was a clear message that they had increased the pace of their struggle  against eliminating injustice and spreading freedom.

The celebration began with artistic and dance performances, and ended with the planting trees on the occasion of the birth of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, amid chanting of slogans that salute the resistance of Leader Abdullah Ocalan and the struggle of women.
