Women lead 4th phase of “Humanity and Security” operation in al-Hol Camp

On Friday, the Internal Security Forces and the Women’s Internal Security Forces, in cooperation with the YPJ and with support from the SDF and the International Coalition, launched the fourth phase of the “Humanity and Security” operation in al-Hol Camp, east of Hasakah, with the goal of enhancing protection for residents and ensuring a safe environment for humanitarian organizations to operate.

Women fighters of the YPJ and the Women’s Internal Security Forces are actively participating in this security campaign inside the camp, reaffirming their commitment to taking part in all security and humanitarian tasks since the camp’s establishment.

In this context, Beritan Hasakah, a commander in the YPJ, stated that the security campaign aims to dismantle ISIS sleeper cells attempting to reorganize within the camp and spread fear among its residents.

She explained that the YPJ plays a leading role in this campaign, noting that many women in the camp hold extremist ideologies and work to spread them among children, seeking to build what they call the “Cubs of the Caliphate.”

Beritan added that the launch of the fourth phase under women’s leadership reflects the essential and active role of women in confronting extremist ideology, stressing that the mission of the YPJ is not limited to protecting women in North and East Syria but extends to defending women worldwide by countering extremism and injustice.

The role of women fighters also carries a humanitarian and social dimension, through reinforcing justice and equality, protecting women and children, and contributing to building a safer and more stable society, making them a central force in confronting terrorism and safeguarding security in North and East Syria.
