Trump envoys continue exchanging drafts, messages with Araghchi

A U.S. official said that envoys of former U.S. President Donald Trump are still exchanging drafts and messages with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

A senior U.S. official revealed that the envoys of Donald Trump, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, are continuing to exchange draft proposals and messages with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

The official added today: “There are talks, and there are offers. We don’t like their offer, and they don’t like ours.”

He further explained that the Iranians “deliver messages by hand to caves or wherever the Supreme Leader or anyone acting on his behalf is hiding, which slows down the negotiation process,” according to Axios.

He also noted that the U.S. administration “still does not know the status of Iranian leader Mojtaba Khamenei.”

The official pointed to two options: either reaching “a workable deal” or returning to bombing again, and more forcefully.

On the other hand, the official revealed that “the operation in the Strait of Hormuz aims to change the ‘no war, no agreement’ situation.” He added that Trump “is tired of the stalemate and wants to pressure Iran through the Hormuz operation.”
