Thousands flee from areas occupied by Turkey in Syria
Areas occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries in Syria are witnessing a wave of displacement, following talks of a potential escalation between Damascus government forces and Turkish forces, against the backdrop of military escalation in Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah.
Local sources from the countryside of Aleppo and Idlib, areas occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries, reported an increase in displacement over the past two days in areas close to the frontlines between Turkish occupation mercenaries on one side and Damascus government forces along with those described as loyal to Iran and Lebanese Hezbollah on the other.
The circulation of news and information about a potential escalation, coinciding with Israeli attacks on Lebanon, has prompted hundreds of residents to flee from towns such as Sarmin, Nayrab, Afis, and Taftanaz in eastern Idlib, as well as Taqad, Kafr Amma, Al-Abzimo, and Al-Sahara in western Aleppo's countryside. People are also fleeing from Azaz eastwards into cities and rural areas far from the frontlines.
Sources mentioned that the city of Sarmin has witnessed a mass exodus, with more than half of its residents leaving in the past few days. The majority of people from Taqad, Al-Abzimo, and Al-Sahara near the frontlines in western Aleppo have also fled.
Documentation centers in those areas announced that the number of displaced people from the countryside of Idlib and Aleppo, adjacent to the conflict zones, has reached 4,280 people, noting that the displacement continues from those regions.
