The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that dozens of citizens, doctors, and healthcare workers organized a protest in front of the National Hospital in Sweida on Thursday, denouncing the entry of armed men into the hospital grounds and their assault on medical staff.

The protesters raised slogans demanding respect for the sanctity of medical institutions and an end to violations against doctors. They emphasized that the recurrence of such incidents threatens the safety of staff and patients and disrupts workflow. They also warned of the danger of official silence and called on the relevant authorities to assume their responsibilities and enforce the rule of law within public institutions.

This stand comes in the wake of repeated attacks on medical personnel, amid escalating security chaos in Sweida.
