War remnants kill, injure 13 people in one day in areas controlled by Damascus government

Unexploded ordnance continues to threaten the lives of civilians in areas controlled by the Damascus government, especially in areas that witnessed previous fighting.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that yesterday, Wednesday, four people, including two children, were killed and nine children were injured in several separate incidents caused by the explosion of mines and war remnants in the Homs countryside, the Hama countryside, and the Deir ez-Zor countryside.

According to the details, a child was killed in the Syrian town of al-Hamad near Jabal Ghurab, and four children were injured in the village of al-Bana in the Hama countryside. Two people were killed by a mine explosion near their home in the town of al-Marei'iyah, east of Deir ez-Zor. A child was also killed and five others injured by a projectile explosion in al-Hamad al-Ali neighborhood in al-Ashara city.

SOHR warned of the continuation of this catastrophic situation and called for urgent action to intensify mine clearance operations and educate civilians about their dangers, particularly in agricultural areas and areas close to former contact lines, where most incidents occur.
