Lebanese Foreign Ministry: Conditions right for Syrian refugees’ return
The Lebanese Foreign Ministry affirmed its "readiness to cooperate with Syria on the return of refugees, border demarcation, combating smuggling, and addressing the issue of the missing as an urgent humanitarian matter," stating that the conditions are now suitable for the return of Syrian refugees.

Lebanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Raji, confirmed his country's readiness to cooperate with the Damascus authority on several joint files, most notably the return of Syrian refugees to their homeland, border control, and resolving outstanding issues, especially the file of the missing.
During his speech at the 163rd session of the Arab Foreign Ministers’ meeting in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, Raji pointed out that “the conditions in Syria have become suitable for the return of refugees, as the reasons that led them to seek refuge have ceased to exist,” stressing that Lebanon has already taken practical steps in this regard.
The minister explained that "his country is working on demarcating the borders with Syria, and an agreement has been reached to form joint legal and technical committees to accomplish this vital file, enabling Lebanon to strengthen its sovereignty, secure its borders, and prevent smuggling in all its forms."
Raji also called for "Arab cooperation to address long-standing unresolved issues, foremost among them the issue of the missing in Syrian prisons," stressing that it is "an urgent humanitarian issue that can no longer be delayed."
