Mazloum Abdi holds public meeting in Kobani to discuss latest regional developments

Mazloum Abdi, Advisor to the Presidency, held a public meeting today in Kobani to discuss the latest regional developments, particularly the events the city has experienced in recent days.

Abdi addressed the events at the Kobani prison, explaining that protests erupted following the death of fighter Siban Hazni and that a number of young men were arrested during those protests. He added that tensions flared inside the prison after detainees were threatened with transfer to Aleppo, resulting in the deaths of 10 inmates and injuries to others.

He noted that a special investigative committee has been formed to uncover the circumstances of the incident and determine exactly what occurred.

He also touched upon the January 29 agreement and the mechanisms for its implementation, explaining that several key issues and files related to the agreement have been resolved.

Regarding the Kurdish language issue, Abdi stated that the matter remains under discussion. He affirmed that work is underway to reach a solution, emphasizing the necessity of adopting Kurdish as a language of instruction and recognizing it as an official language.

The meeting was held behind closed doors, away from the media.
